Terms of Business

1. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting film or digital files to Spectrum Lab for processing, printing or scanning, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. These terms apply to all services provided by Spectrum Lab.

2. Film Processing

We process C41 colour negative and traditional black & white films using professional chemistry. All processing is carried out with care, but due to the nature of photographic processing, we cannot guarantee results for:

• Expired or improperly stored film
• Film that has been exposed to extreme temperatures or X-rays
• Film with unknown or unmarked emulsion types
• Previously processed or partially processed film

3. Liability

While we take every precaution to ensure the safe handling of your materials, our liability is limited to the replacement cost of unexposed film of the same type and quantity. We are not liable for:

• The sentimental or commercial value of images
• Loss or damage during postal transit (unless Special Delivery is used)
• Damage caused by film defects or improper storage prior to submission
• Results affected by incorrect exposure or camera malfunction

We strongly recommend using Special Delivery (insured up to £500) for irreplaceable film.

4. Scanning and Digital Files

Scans are delivered as digital files via download link. We retain backup copies for a limited period but recommend downloading your files promptly. We are not responsible for:

• Files not downloaded within the specified period
• Colour accuracy on uncalibrated monitors
• Print results from third-party services

5. Turnaround Times

We aim to process and return orders promptly, but turnaround times are estimates only and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to equipment maintenance, high volume periods, or postal delays. We will contact you if significant delays are expected.

6. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of work. Orders will not be dispatched until payment is received in full. We accept bank transfer, PayPal, and major credit/debit cards. Prices are subject to change without notice, but quoted prices will be honoured for orders already received.

7. Uncollected Orders

Orders not collected or paid for within 90 days may be disposed of without further notice. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before disposal.

8. Copyright and Privacy

You retain full copyright of your images. We will not use, share, or publish your images without your explicit permission. We may retain technical data for quality control purposes. We comply with applicable data protection regulations.

9. Complaints and Disputes

If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. We will investigate all complaints fairly and aim to resolve issues promptly. These terms are governed by English law.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
